L’huile essentielle de laurier noble a des vertus antalgiques et équilibrantes des systèmes nerveux sympathiques et parasympathiques seront précieuses pour contribuer à soulager les douleurs, notamment inflammatoires, qu’elles soient dentaires, gingivales, rhumatismales…

Particularité de la plante : Le Laurier est un arbuste mesurant de 2 à 6 m de haut, à tige droite. Les feuilles de forme lancéolée, alternes, coriaces, à bord ondulé, sont vert foncé sur leur face supérieure et plus clair à la face inférieure. Elles dégagent une odeur aromatique quand on les froisse. Les fleurs, blanchâtres, groupées par 4 à 5 en petites ombelles, apparaissent en mars-avril. Cet arbuste possède une caractéristique commune avec le sapin ou l’épicéa, il demeure vert en hiver. Cette caractéristique a fait de cette plante un symbole d’immortalité ; la Lune, selon les Chinois, contiendrait un laurier et un immortel. De tous les lauriers, seul le laurier sauce est comestible. Le Laurier rose est une des plantes les plus toxiques.

Arôme : frais, typé, légèrement épicé proche de celui des feuilles. Rappelle le clou de girofle.

Précaution d’emploi :

Aucune contre-indication aux usages et doses physiologiques recommandés. Toutefois, on fera systématiquement un test au pli du coude, avant d’appliquer sur la peau. Elle peut être allergisante pour des personnes sensibles.

En cuisine : Évidemment, pour aromatiser les viandes et charcuteries. Et toutes les recettes pouvant contenir du laurier. 1 seule goutte d’huile essentielle est déjà très aromatique.

Ne surtout pas l’appliquer avant une exposition au soleil, même indirecte, car elle peut déclencher l’apparition de taches sur la peau, de dépigmentation, très longues à disparaître.

L’huile essentielle est contre-indiquée chez les femmes enceintes et les enfants de moins de six ans.

Attention : demandez toujours l’avis de votre médecin ou de votre pharmacien avant d’utiliser des remèdes à base de plantes ; ceux-ci pouvant avoir des effets indésirables sur votre organisme et être en contradiction avec votre état de santé.
